IELTS & Cambridge Exam Preparation
Prepare for your English exam with lessons designed around you. Whether you're preparing for IELTS, B2 First, C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency, I'll help you understand the exam, improve your English and develop the skills you need to get the result you want. So, whether you're taking the exam for the first time or taking it again to improve your result, we'll focus on what you need to make progress.
Every lesson is one-to-one and based on your level, goals and exam date. We won't simply work through a coursebook from beginning to end. Instead, we'll focus on the areas you most need to improve.
Exam preparation lessons
I offer one-to-one preparation for:
IELTS – Academic and General Training
Cambridge B2 First (FCE)
Cambridge C1 Advanced (CAE)
Cambridge C2 Proficiency (CPE)
You can work on the whole exam or focus on particular areas, such as speaking, writing, reading, listening, grammar or vocabulary.
How can I help you prepare?
Exam preparation isn't just about doing practice tests. In our lessons, we'll identify your strengths and the areas you need to improve, then focus on the skills that will help you make progress.
Depending on your needs, we can work on:
-
understanding the exam format and what examiners are looking for
-
speaking confidently and naturally
-
organising and developing your ideas in writing
-
improving grammar, vocabulary and accuracy
-
developing reading and listening strategies
-
practising exam tasks and learning how to approach them effectively
-
detailed feedback on your speaking and writing
Why study with me?
I've been teaching English for nearly 25 years and I'm DELTA-qualified. I also have professional examining experience, so I understand how English language assessments are marked and what examiners are looking for.
My lessons are personalised rather than based on a fixed programme. I'll adapt our lessons as you progress, so we can spend more time on the areas you find difficult and less time on things you can already do well.
You'll also get clear, detailed feedback so that you understand not only what needs improving, but how to improve it.

How do the lessons work?
Lessons are online and one-to-one and are suitable for learners from B1 to C2, so you can study from anywhere. You can book individual lessons or a package of lessons, depending on your needs. If you're not sure what would be best for you, get in touch and tell me which exam you're preparing for, your current level and when you plan to take the exam.
